HBO is ramping up the marketing campaign for the upcoming seventh and final season of the vampire series True BloodA trailer arrived online a little over a week ago, and now a batch of the first True Blood season 7 images has been unveiled.  I stopped watching the show a few seasons ago so I’m not quite sure where everyone stands going into the finale, but from the looks of the trailer it appears that vampire zombies have now been added to the fantastical hodgepodge that is True Blood.  Producers have promised a more focused final season for this last batch of 10 episodes, and moving the action exclusively back to Bon Temps is certainly a good start.  It should be interesting to see how this unabashedly campy—and oftentimes crazy—series comes to a close.

Here’s the official synopsis for True Blood:

TRUE BLOOD begins its ten-episode, seventh and final season SUNDAY, JUNE 22 at 9:00 p.m.   Mixing romance, suspense, mystery and humor, the series takes place in a world where vampires and humans co-exist, after vampires have come out of the coffin, thanks to the invention of mass-produced synthetic blood that means they no longer need humans as a nutritional source. The series follows waitress and part-faerie Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), who can hear people’s thoughts, vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and vampire Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård).   Alan Ball created the show, which is based on the bestselling Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris.
