Paramount has released the teaser trailer for the Coen Brothers’ new film, True Grit. I listed the film as my most-anticipated movie for the rest of 2010 and this teaser does nothing to change that. While using the 23rd Psalm in voiceover is a little cheesy, the choir music that plays over the trailer is beautiful and Roger Deakins’ cinematography looks (unsurprisingly) gorgeous.

Here’s the official synopsis:
Fourteen-year-old Mattie Ross’s (Hailee Steinfeld) father has been shot in cold blood by the coward Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin), and she is determined to bring him to justice. Enlisting the help of a trigger-happy, drunken U.S. Marshal, Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges), she sets out with him — over his objections — to hunt down Chaney. Her father’s blood demands that she pursue the criminal into Indian territory and find him before a Texas Ranger named LeBoeuf (Matt Damon) catches him and brings him back to Texas for the murder of another man.

Coen brothers? Jeff Bridges? Old West tale of murder and revenge? I was sold when this thing was greenlit, but I’m even more excited now. It also doesn’t hurt to boast Matt Damon and Josh Brolin in your supporting cast.
