Posters for three upcoming movies have hit the interwebs this morning. First up is the poster for the David Schwimmer-directed drama Trust. It’s a pretty ballsy poster when you consider it doesn’t show the faces of its lead actors Clive Owen and Catherine Keener. Then again, it also doesn’t tell you what the movie is about (parents, played by Owen and Keener, deal with the rape of their daughter by an online predator).
We also have three character posters for the animated supervillain comedy Megamind. Finishing up, there’s the poster the Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway romantic-comedy-Parkinsons-disease-drama Love & Other Drugs. Hit the jump to check out all of the posters. Trust will screen at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. Megamind opens November 5th. Love & Other Drugs will be released on November 24th.
All posters via IMP Awards.
Here’s the synopsis for Trust:
Safe and sound in their suburban home, Will and Lynn Cameron (Clive Owen and Catherine Keener) used to sleep well at night. When their 14-year-old daughter, Annie, made a new friend on-line – a 16-year-old boy named Charlie – Will and Lynn didn’t think much of it. But when Annie and Charlie make a plan to meet what happens in the next twenty-four hours changes the entire family forever. Charlie is really a 40-year-old serial pedophile (Tom McCarthy) and, once Annie’s rape comes to light, it becomes a touchstone event that reverberates through the entire family.
Here’s the synopsis for Megamind:
Megamind is the most brilliant supervillain the world has ever known. And the least successful. Over the years, he has tried to conquer Metro City in every imaginable way. Each attempt, a colossal failure thanks to the caped superhero known as ‘Metro Man,’ an invincible hero until the day Megamind actually kills him in the throes of one of his botched evil plans. Suddenly, Megamind has no purpose. A supervillain without a superhero. He realizes that achieving his life’s ambition is the worst thing that ever happened to him. Megamind decides that the only way out of his rut is to create a new hero opponent called ‘Titan,’ who promises to be bigger, better and stronger than Metro Man ever was. Pretty quickly Titan starts to think it’s much more fun to be a villain than a good guy. Except Titan doesn’t just want to rule the world, he wants to destroy it. Now, Megamind must decide: can he defeat his own diabolical creation? Can the world’s smartest man make the smart decision for once? Can the evil genius become the unlikely hero of his own story?
Here’s the synopsis for Love & Other Drugs:
A humorous expose of the highly competitive and cutthroat world of pharmaceuticals. An ambitious college grad schmoozes doctors, nurses, hospitals and begins a relationship with a woman suffering from Parkinson’s, all while competing against other salesmen who trying to push their brand of drugs.
