Netflix has released the first trailer for the upcoming EDM-infused comedy series Turn Up Charlie. The series was co-created by Idris Elba, who stars in the lead role as a struggling DJ and eternal bachelor who is given a chance at success when he’s tasked with becoming a “manny” to his famous best friend’s daughter—who is quite the handful.

This show looks… weird. It’s almost like that phase in Dwayne Johnson’s career when he was starring in cheesy kids/family movies like The Tooth Fairy and The Game Plan as there’s a bit of a silly tone to it all, but then there’s also a serious desire to explore Elba’s character’s love life and career. It’s certainly an ambitious balance, and it’ll be interesting to see how it all plays together.

Check out the Turn Up Charlie trailer below, followed by the poster. The series also stars Piper Perabo, JJ Field, and Frankie Hervey and is executive produced by Elba, Gary Reich, and Tristram Shapeero. The eight-episode first season debuts on Netflix on March 15th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Turn Up Charlie:

Turn Up Charlie centers on the titular Charlie (Idris Elba), a struggling DJ and eternal bachelor, who is given a final chance at success when he reluctantly becomes a ‘manny’ to his famous best friend's problem-child daughter, Gabby (Frankie Hervey). Piper Perabo and JJ Feild co-star.
