Last night we got our first kind of look at Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy), the superspawn of Kristen Stewart’s Bella and Robert Pattinson’s Edward in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2. Now a whole batch of images from the film has gone online giving us a full look at the child, as well as some other new vampires and a few wonderfully awkward family photos. We just got confirmation that Breaking Dawn – Part 2 will return to Comic-Con next month for the last time, so I expect we’ll start to see some new footage from the film around then. These images don’t exactly make the pic look any less weird than its predecessors (which isn’t surprising given Breaking Dawn‘s strange plot), and there’s one especially uncomfortable photo that highlights the budding romance between Taylor Lautner’s Jacob and the child Renesmee. This is a thing that happens.

If the way they cast is any indication, I think the baby is actually the werewolf’s. That girl looks a lot like Taylor Lautner. I don’t know, I’ve only ever seen the first movie. So if I’m stating the obvious, I apologize.

I’m no expert, but as I married a “Twihard” fan I have come to know that while the Werewolf / Vampire spawn relationship is borderline creepy IMO – the way Meyer gets around the whole pedophile thing is that werewolves “imprint” on another person – where they are compelled to protect, care for, and love another person at all costs and they have no control over who they imprint on. (similar to “soul mates” but not the same thing) As a kid, he would only have protective, older brotherly feelings for her. Only when she grows up would romantic feelings develop. It’s supposed to be beyond the run-of-the-mill romantic feeling. I’m sure that’s too much to grasp for most people in the hyper-sexualized society that we live in, but I sorta get it. Sorta.

Oh thank the Lord someone who isn’t a twilight fan but gets the whole imprinting thing!
