With The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 arriving later this year (November 18), Summit has finally started up the promotional campaign by giving EW some new images from the final two movies.  In addition, the magazine has tied the new images into a cover story with new quotes from director Bill Condon,  Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner.  For a peak at some of the images, as well as some of the cover story, hit the jump.

While I think the Twilight movies have been getting better with each installment, I’m genuinely excited to see what Condon has done with the final two films as I think he’s a great director.  Also, I can’t wait to see what he’s done with some of the controversial stuff in the last book.

Fans have waited years to see Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) tie the knot, and the wedding scene, scheduled for the end of production on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, proved to be equally climactic for those involved. “It was one of the coolest things that I’ve done,” says Stewart. “There was a certain point when I walked on set, and I saw everyone from the entire cast sitting there in the pews, about to do their bit. And it was just so perfect for me in that moment. It was so emotional in such a real way. I literally felt like thanking them for coming.”

But filming wasn’t always quite so idyllic. As the stars and director tell EW, Breaking Dawn Part 1 and 2 (in theaters November 18 and November 2012) involved a grueling, globe-trotting shoot, and scenes far darker, bloodier, and more polarizing than any in the franchise so far. If audiences haven’t matured with the Twilight books, they’re about to grow up fast. “We shot everything — whether it’s the lovemaking or the childbirth — as potent and powerful as it can be,” says director Bill Condon, who knew he was working within the constraints of a PG-13 rating. “It will be interesting to see whether there will be people who think it too disturbing for this universe.” For her part, Stewart wishes the movie could have been even truer to the graphic nature of the book — not so much the honeymoon sequence (“It feels like a real love scene, not necessarily vampire-y, which is good”), but the brutal birth of the baby, Renesmee. “It’s funny because when [the PG-13 issue] comes up, everybody thinks it’s all about the sex,” she says. “The birth is really effective, and I’ve heard it really hits you in the face. But what it could have been? It could have been shocking and grotesque, because that’s how it was written in the book.” She sighs: “I would have loved to have been puking up blood.”

Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob, says that even being a member of the wolf pack didn’t have its privileges. “Everybody is always complaining to me that I don’t have to wear the contacts, I don’t have to wear the white makeup or wear wigs and all that stuff. And I’m like, ‘I’m the one in the freezing rain and cold not wearing a shirt! I paid my dues in New Moon and Eclipse.’” And as for his plot arc in Part 2, which will involve falling for — or imprinting on — Renesmee? “There were many times I walked up to Stephenie [Meyer] and asked her, ‘What exactly is imprinting?’” says Lautner. “It’s still a very confusing thing for me, so don’t ask.”

Jacob receives his invitation to the wedding. ”He’s still getting over losing out on Bella,” says Taylor Lautner. ”By the end he’s able to accept it and deal with it like a man.”

Here’s the synopsis for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn:

In the highly anticipated next chapter of the blockbuster The Twilight Saga, the newfound married bliss of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) is cut short when a series of betrayals and misfortunes threatens to destroy their world.

After their wedding, Bella and Edward travel to Rio de Janeiro for their honeymoon, where they finally give in to their passions. Bella soon discovers she is pregnant, and during a nearly fatal childbirth, Edward finally fulfills her wish to become immortal.

  1. Robert Pattinson is just so cute and gorgeous! Even though I have a boyfriend, I’d still be a cougar for him! OMG I can’t wait for Breaking Dawn!!! OH YEAH BABY!!! :)
treated myself to a thai massage today and am still giggling over the female masseuse’s major fascination by my BIG beautiful butt hahha… It’s mesmerising!

  2. Love Rob! He is so hot! So far, unfortunately, I’ve been dealing with men with no backbone, who make promises they cannot keep. A lot of men can’t handle a strong woman. I won’t cry for all the hunger in my heart. I’m dying to have a baby. In fact, my biological clock is already ticking and I don’t know how to describe it. It’s just becoming a physical need now. I want my son(s) to look like him. I am a 34 year old divorced woman with a young daughter but I’m excited to see what the future brings.

  3. I saw the first Twilight movie with my boyfriend when it was released even though I knew nothing about Twilight. I was overwhelmed. It was orgasmic. When I have a craving for something, I just can’t hold myself back. Robert Pattinson is a wonderful guy, extremely handsome, and has an accent. For all you guys out there, Twilight turns women on. All you have to do is take us to see a Twilight movie to satisfy us. Also, be headstrong. Girls like strong men that aren’t afraid to show their true feelings at times. We need to know you’re reliable, say what you mean, and will always take care of us.

  4. I think that Twilight has more of an impact on women in the world than religion and has made women such as myself increasingly comfortable with themselves and their desires.

Every day now I discover something new. Go through phases in which I feel much more in touch with my feminine side, in ways I never thought possible. I’m letting my desires speak as loud as they can.

I want to send a message that I’m an ordinary girl who’s struggled to find herself like everyone else, but I’ve finally figured out who I am because of Stephanie Meyer’s ingenuity. It’s so liberating.

  5. So many hunks in the Twilight Saga!
Taylor, Robert and Jackson are sexy!!!!!!!!!!!
Kellan and Peter are really hot!!!

    I’m so excited!
    I love the Twilight series.
Breaking Dawn is going to be amazing!
THE BEST MOVIES OF THE ENTIRE SERIES!!!

Girls everywhere go and see Breaking Dawn, go toast it up and get sexy right now!

  6. It is incredible how much Twilight has really empowered and liberated women around the world. I turn 30 next week which I’m excited about and I’m in a good place with having a great job and a toyboy and I’m in the best physical shape of my life. I’d love to have children in the next couple of years because the result is so worth it. My toyboy is only 22, but I am really surprised by his maturity. But he’s got his career and things are going well, so I wouldn’t want to put him under any pressure. I don’t feel the clock ticking. If it happens, it happens. It’s a whole new world.

  7. I would, like, die to be in Twilight. Being around all those hot guys. That would be my biggest dream in life! I want to be a vampire! I would be one that was probably nice – no, I kind of want to be evil! I don’t know what I’d want to be – just a vampire. I didn’t read the Twilight books, but my little sisters are obsessed with Twilight.

  8. I would like to interject a male point of view. I have seen all the movies as i do with ANYTHING dealing with vampires or werewolves and I came to 2 conclusions.

    1. Stephanie Meyer has never talked to a man before in her life and has no concept of how male sexuality works. In the real world Jacob and Edward would have shredded each other. Or …..

    2. She wrote this to be foreplay for women. It’s very over romanticized on purpose. The way she portrays romance from Jacob and Edward is the way people fantasize men to be expressing their feelings openly and guys are in reality more physical. The scary thing this is doing is setting up all the 11-15 y/o female crowd up for a big disappointment because this series shows guys being one way and in reality their minds function very differently. I just hope most realize it’s a fantasy and don’t expect real guys to act this way because that’s not the way we are wired.

I actually read the last book of the series and it was tough … she candy coats life so much by avoiding using real language that the people in these situations would use that it was hard to read. Want to read some really good vampire stuff ??? Get some no holds barred anne rice.

  9. bella isn’t eating eggs, it’s waffles. She doesn’t star eating eggs until she is pregnant. Poor Jacob running in the rain, feel so sad for him. He has to end up with that crazy half-vampire baby that will maybe bite him in his sleep to get his blood.

  10. @Allison. Yes Bella eats eggs on the honeymoon. Waffles is never mentioned in the book that I can recall. It was all about eggs.

These pics are so awesome. Making me so excited! Can’t wait for the first trailer now.

  11. can i just say that those 50 odd comments above are all a minute or 2 apart. Is it the same nut-case over and over??? Ive def seen some of those EXACT comments in another movie news site…..skeptical hippo is skeptical
