Tyler Perry is set to join Angelina Jolie in Taylor Sheridan's next pulse-pounding thriller Those Who Wish Me Dead, Collider has exclusively learned.

Based on the bestselling novel by Michael KorytaThose Who Wish Me Dead is described as a hard-boiled chase thriller set against a wildfire in the Montana wilderness. It follows a 14-year-old boy who witnesses a brutal murder and enters a federal protection program that involves teaching him survival skills. Those come in handy when the two killers come after him, with only a few people standing between them and the boy — including a woman who occupies a lonely fire lookout tower (Jolie).

Finn Little is set to play the young protagonist, while Nicholas Hoult will co-star as one of the vicious killers. We've heard Game of Thrones star Aidan Gillen is in talks to play Hoult's murderous brother. Elsewhere, sources say that Jon Bernthal, who co-starred in the Sheridan-scripted thriller Sicario, is in talks to play Jolie's ex, and that Jake Weber is in talks to play Little's father.

As for Perry, his supporting role is being kept under wraps, though sources say that he was a big fan of Sheridan's directorial debut Wind River, and that the two filmmakers have been eager to work together on something.

Creative Wealth Media will finance the indie movie, which is being produced by Steve Zaillian and Garrett Basch of Film Rites and Aaron L. Gilbert on behalf of BRON Studios. CWM’s Jason Cloth will serve as executive producer. Production is expected to begin in May.

Perry most recently wrote, directed, produced and starred in A Madea Family Funeral. He also played Colin Powell opposite Christian Bale's Dick Cheney in Adam McKay's Oscar-nominated biopic Vice. Perry is represented by WME.
