The trailer for Tony Scott’s Unstoppable makes the flick look like a parody of a real movie.  Unstoppable is about a train that can’t slow down and it’s up to a veteran and rookie conductor to stop the train before its freight of hazardous chemicals collides with a town and kills all the innocent people.  It sounds a little cable B-movie and beneath the star power of Denzel Washington and Chris Pine, but okay.  But then the dialogue is just golden:  “We’re not just talking about a train!” shouts Rosario Dawson. “We’re talking about a missile the size of the Chrysler building!”

And then…”It gets worse.”  Students are coming in on a field trip on another track.  After that revelation, I expected them to continue, “And the cure for cancer is on board that train and so are the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders!  Oh, and there’s also the 2,000-year-old tears of Christ somewhere in the back.  Simply put: it would be bad if this train crashed.”  Hit the jump to watch this hilariously bad trailer.  Unstoppable opens on November 12th.

    Doesn't look that bad.

Does Denzel Washington only do movies where he plays mentor / older guy to some younger actor?

At least they didn't go with the original title- Speed 3: Training Day.

Seriously, these two stars are just in it for the payday. This should take care of some bills. I hope this isn't a train wreck of sorts. LOLZ!

love the freeze frame of those ridiculous kids

Well Denzel and Chris so, it's OK !!!

Denzel's dirty old man laugh at the end made it all worth it.

We're missing a Denis Hopper like character. The performances look pretty intense; those kids look pretty weird and I hope a version of the movie comes out with Rosario topless. Might be worth a matinee

Geez Matt, you made it sound like a Troma movie.

This looks pretty good. Plus Tony Scott is one of my faves. I think this will be thrilling and entertaining. The story is simple. That's it. But with DEnzel, Pine and Scott directing it elevates the material.

I do wish QT would write another True Romance for Scott though.

Geez Matt , B-Movie ? this doesnt look that bad at all ,plus i trust Denzel & Tony Scott , and as far as it being cheesy campy thrill ride , did you not watch 80's action movies ? Thats why they're all great !

Hey, Matt, don't forget that it's “Inspired by true events”!

Here's the real story (funny there are no mention of screaming schoolkids in the article):

Looks like Tony Scott has broken out of his slump. Denzel and Chris Pine? I”ll be there opening night.

Well I saw the train run over at least 4 different things so that's a good start. They even hinted a horse would get run over by a train, now I would pay good money for that.

the horse doesnt get hit by the train i know this because that part was shot a mile from my house and my husband was down helping with secrity, some of the movie was shot in small towns in pa

Not quite sure why the trailer is taking so much heat, but in all honesty, I’m psyched for this to come out! Not just an appreciating fan of Scott & Washington (Pine is okay too – lol) but more as a train enthusiast & engineer student. I remember this story and truth be told, it looks like Scott & Co. have done a pretty good job turning it into an entertaining two hours. Sure, it’s going to be sensationalized in some areas for the entertainment factor, but I really think this can be a hit. And bare in mind, during the actual ,the senior conductor (I’m assuming that’s Denzel) actually jumped on the train to stop it. So what factual elements this pays homage to and stays faith with-in the realms of will only intensify the drama with regard to its nonfiction. I for one can’t wait!
