Disney Sets 2013 Release Date for New Untitled Pixar Film

     June 20, 2011

Disney announced today that they’ve set a release date for a new untitled Pixar film on November 27th, 2013. No other information about the project is given, beyond the fact that it will be an original film and not a sequel. Pixar’s Cars 2 opens this Friday, and on June 22nd, 2012 they will release the fairy tale Brave. The first image from Brave was released last month, and naturally it looks fantastic. The film tells the story of Princess Merida, a skilled archer who accidentally sets evil upon the Scottish highlands when she is granted an ill-fated wish.

While we know pretty much nothing about this new untitled film, back in 2010 Monsters, Inc. and Up director Pete Docter said that he was working on an original project, so this may or may not be the one. Following Brave, the Monsters, Inc. prequel Monsters University hits theaters on June 21st, 2013. Billy Crystal and John Goodman return to voice Sully and Mike, with the film focusing on their days in college.
