Hulu has released a new Veronica Mars trailer. The upcoming Hulu series runs eight episodes and has Mars Investigations looking into a series of bombings that puts Veronica (Kristen Bell) and her father Keith (Enrico Colantoni) in the middle of a battle between Neptune’s wealthy elites who want to put an end to the spring break revelry and the working class that relies on the tourism dollars.

I love the persistence of this show. It was a cult hit from the mid-2000s that only managed three seasons, and yet in the 2010s they’ve managed to crank out a movie and now a new mini-series. I can’t seem to quit Veronica Mars and I’m not sure I would want to. The franchise has offered a great bit of neo-noir anchored by Bell’s unforgettable character. I keep wondering if Veronica Mars is ever going to run out of steam, but the franchise has been around for fifteen years now with pretty much the same main cast, so I would probably be wise to never count out Ms. Mars.

Check out the Veronica Mars trailer below. The eight-episode mini-series comes to Hulu on July 26th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Veronica Mars:

Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry. After Mars Investigations is hired by the family of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into an epic eight-episode mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach.
