HBO has been on one hell of a roll recently with its comedies. Last night saw the return of Veep, which features the great Julia Louis-Dreyfus, in its fifth season, while Mike Judge's Silicon Valley premiered its third and best season thus far. Both shows have already been given the green light for another season, and the channel is also currently working on exclusive new content with Jon Stewart. Things are looking up, and Vice Principals, the new project from Eastbound & Down creators Jody Hill and Danny McBride, is part of that particular upswing.

Now, we have a brand new trailer for the comedy series, which pits McBride's lead character and Walton Goggins' co-lead against one another in an attempt to secure the job of principal at the high school the both work at. Like most of Hill's projects, McBride's character hinges on an outrageous sense of superiority, anger, and disappointment in his day-to-day life, and bounced off of Goggins' unpredictable, unwieldy pomposity, this could prove to be every bit as unique and hilarious as Eastbound & Down or, for that matter, Hill's unsung masterwork, Observe & Report. We'll have to wait and see how their battle ensues, as the series will not be premiering until July 17th on HBO, but expect a brawl to beat them all with this one.

Here's the official synopsis for Vice Principals:
