Video Blog: The Oscars and the Future of BATMAN Movies

Peter at Slashfilm is a really good friend of mine. At least a few times a week we talk about upcoming movies, TV shows, what gossip each of us have heard…basically, we geek out on the phone as we’re both fanboys at heart.

Since a number of our conversations cover things we think you might find interesting, we’ve decided to start recording certain conversations as video blogs. Perhaps you already saw our video blog on Pixar’s “Up”, or what we think “Watchmen” will make opening weekend.

But today we’re here to talk about the future of Warner Bros. “Batman” franchise…and a bit on last night’s Oscars.

Just like all of you, we both loved “The Dark Knight” and we each have some ideas on where the franchise might go. So when we start talking about “Batman” (about 4 minutes in), we first talk about what’s going on with the script, then we talk about future villains and will Chris Nolan make more than one more sequel, what could be the title, could Frank Miller’s “The Dark Knight Returns” be a viable movie in the near future, and we even talk about what filmmaker could take over the franchise after Chris Nolan is finished. You might be surprised who we both mention…

While the conversation is a lot longer than the last video blog, I hope you’ll still enjoy it. And with that…here are the videos.

Part 1 – The Oscars and Batman

Part 2 – Batman and more Batman
