Today, we have two images of two leading men with weapons: Vin Diesel as Riddick and Tyler Perry as Alex Cross. Diesel has been hard at work completing the third film in the franchise that started with Pitch Black and continued in The Chronicles of Riddick. This iteration finds our anti-hero left for dead on a desert planet infested with predators.  Riddick is forced to activate a beacon that alerts mercenaries to come and collect their prize.

Perry stars in the adaptation of James Patterson’s novel, “Cross,” as the titular detective.  Alex Cross pits Perry against a sadistic serial killer (Matthew Fox) in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse.  Hit the jump to check out the images.

First up, from Diesel’s Facebook page, comes this new image from Riddick:

This latest image fits into the theme of previous images released, including the first look at Riddick’s mercenaries, the first look at Katee Sackhoff’s character and another image with a weapon-wielding Diesel as the fan-favorite anti-hero.  We can look forward to Riddick sometime early next year.

While Diesel may be comfortable around weapons, Perry doesn’t seem quite as confident in the following image:

I really hope he’s in the middle of chambering another round or he’s about to shatter his collarbone.  Watch the trailer for Alex Cross here and look for the film to debut this October 19th.  Here’s the official synopsis for Alex Cross:

ALEX CROSS follows the young homicide detective/psychologist (Tyler Perry), from the worldwide best-selling novels by James Patterson, as he meets his match in a serial killer (Matthew Fox). The two face off in a high-stakes game of cat and mouse, but when the mission gets personal, Cross is pushed to the edge of his moral and psychological limits in this taut and exciting action thriller.
