Vin Diesel's unwavering self-promotion is at turns oddly endearing and incredibly frustrating.  I admire his conviction at making another Riddick movie, and gobsmacked that he thinks anyone other than him wants a third xXx.  His desire to be in a Marvel movie was also indefatigable as he dropped hints like saying the studio wanted to meet with him, and the two might "merge brands" in 2016.  But so far, his collaboration with the studio has extended to Diesel voicing a character who only says "I am Groot."  He did a fine job of it, but Diesel wants more.  He wants to be Inhuman.

Hit the jump for more on Vin Diesel possibly starring in Marvel's The Inhumans.

Cut back to over three years ago, and there were rumors that Marvel was interested in adapting their property The Inhumans.  The story revolves around a group of characters who were created by alien experiments on primitive homo-sapiens.  The alien race behind the experiments, the Kree, abandoned their work and the Inhumans went on to form a society of their own, which is led by the king Black Bolt and his family Medusa, Karnak, Gorgon, Triton, Crystal, Maximus the Mad, and the canine Lockjaw.

This past weekend, Diesel posted the following on his Facebook:

As you'll note, he capitalized "Inhuman".  I wouldn't be surprised if Marvel is still hard at work on this one, and if it may have fresh life considering the success of Guardians of the Galaxy, another group of strange characters with no name recognition.  The studio also has release dates to fill, and part of Marvel's continued success will come from not only sequels, but also creating fresh properties.  The world might not be ready for a female-led superhero movie, but it could be ready for a film where a team of royal alien experiments are led by a guy whose voice can destroy cities.

It will be interesting to see if this project has actual validity or if Diesel is yet again publicly campaigning to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
