After news that Netflix and DreamWorks Animation would be bringing Voltron Legendary Defender (and an early look at the series' second season) to New York Comic-Con, I was instantly jealous that I wouldn't get to sneak a peek at one of my favorite shows of the year. However, we have an exclusive debut of fantastic new artwork that's coming to the con courtesy of DreamWorks Animation and a team of pop artists, known altogether as the Voltron Collective.
As a huge fan of the original show and the new version, this comes as a great opportunity to land some artwork based on the classic animated property. There are some exclusive pieces that look fantastic, along with a great collection of artwork, wearable merchandise, and even jewelry for you or the Voltron fanatic in your life. If you're attending NYCC, you should definitely make plans to check out the available art. And you can always head over to the Voltron store to pick up some additional merch. Then be sure to keep an eye out for the return of Voltron Legendary Defender for Season 2 on Netflix later this year!
Here's more on the Voltron Collective, followed by our exclusive looks at the available merchandise:
Inspired by Voltron Legendary Defender and the five brave paladins who form him, DreamWorks Animation Television has joined forces with a fleet of artists and brands to celebrate the quintessence of Voltron - the biggest, boldest robot in animation history. Tapping into nostalgia, pop culture and the true power of teamwork, Acme, Bait, Brooklyn Projects, Han Cholo, Illest, Lion Forge and New Era focus with laser precision on what elevates Voltron into a new breed of hero - the talents of many uniting into a force greater than the sum of its parts. Together they form the Voltron Collective.
