[Update: We have updated the article with the English-language version which is also higher-quality video, as well as a new set image]
A Spanish trailer for Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of War Horse has leaked online. The movie charts the journey of a horse named Joey and his quest to reunite with a farmer’s son named Albert (Jeremy Irvine) against the backdrop of World War I. Disney should release the official trailer soon, but the quality of this version is sufficient for now. If you were hoping for a sweeping epic with a soaring John Williams score, the new clip promises just that.
Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberpatch, Patrick Kennedy, Emily Watson, Toby Kebbell, David Thewlis, Eddie Marsan, and Peter Mullan also star. War Horse opens December 28th. Watch the trailer after the jump.

To be honest, this looks like the very best in movies that just aren’t for me. I am sure it will earn all the Oscar nominations — especially the technical categories — the Academy wishes to bestow.
Official synopsis:
From director Steven Spielberg comes “War Horse,” an epic adventure for audiences of all ages. Set against a sweeping canvas of rural England and Europe during the First World War, “War Horse” begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him. When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets—British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughter—before the story reaches its emotional climax in the heart of No Man’s Land.
The First World War is experienced through the journey of this horse—an odyssey of joy and sorrow, passionate friendship and high adventure. “War Horse” is one of the great stories of friendship and war—a successful book, it was turned into a hugely successful international theatrical hit that is arriving on Broadway next year. It now comes to screen in an epic adaptation by one of the great directors in film history.

JOHN WILLIAMS!!!!! I thought he was retired! I’ve missed him!!! I hope he scores films till the day he dies!!!
LOVE the cinematography in this….. great use of camera movement to give it that “sweeping epic” feel
looks like an English language version of Jean Pierre Jeunet’s a very long engagement – just trade out a female human for a horse
Yikes that gave me some goose bumps
That score and that cinematography – *melts*
smell Oscars !!!
Wow! I want to see this movie now.
WOW! They filmed this near where i live, dartmoor England. I found out that Spielberg had been filming there in our local paper, i wish i knew in advance. I would have loved to have been an extra or something.
Dartmoor is a beautiful place (inspiration for some of lord of the rings settings) But the way this film has been shot it looks stunning!
Gotta say this gave me goosebumps!! And that chill even put a lump in my throat. Can’t wait to see this.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
I’m sorry it doesn’t feature a viking with a silly hammer or men wearing PVC fella.
Has nothing to do with being Thor or an action movie in general this movie just looks boring….that’s why it will win awards.
i’m still curious how you make a film with a horse in the lead(and a non talking horse to be exact). i think there was an animated film before called Spirit where the horse don’t talk, but that’s an animated film. how do you make it in a live action without it being silly. and Spielberg is directing a movie like this. i wonder how he’ll pull it off.
nweiz, i’m just glad he’s back. Crystal Skull wasn’t as bad as people say. it was actually fun(bad CG but FUN). i can’t wait for his next two movies. hopefully we’ll see the Spielberg that spurned some very good movies last decade( AI, Minority Report, Catch Me If You Can, The TERMINAL, MUNICH)
Hmm Spielberg going back to his Empire Of The Sun roots…
I’m in.
mmm..horse films. I love me some good horse films.
I’m off to put my baby in the microwave and god bless america like a true patriot.
I can’t stop saying wow. This will be such an amazing film.
Now that is some BEAUTIFUL cinematography
This has Spielberg written all over it. Epic and very theatric as ever, and that musical score is just sooo John Williams. This movie already reeks of Oscar.
I read where a horse’s butthole is almost human-like; so, I’m wondering(from a clinical POV) what type of shit went on between homey and that future bottle of crazy clue.
As usual we don’t know if this film is for wars or against. Spielbergs political neutrality really irritates.
John Williams for the WIN! Beautiful, original, fresh serene and relaxing score!
