Last week, we reported that Warner Bros. was making a final decision on whether or not to convert Louis Leterrier’s remake of Clash of the Titans in to 3D. After seeing a 3D test print of the film, WB is not only giving an extra dimension to Clash, but according to Heat Vision, they’re casting 3D(-imus?) on to both Part I and II of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Since conversion costs have been falling, it will “only” cost $5 million (studio chump change, life-changing money for the rest of us) to convert each film into 3D and another $5 to supply the 3D glasses.
As a result of Clash‘s shiny new 3D look, the film has been pushed back from March 26th to April 2nd where it compete against The Last Song starring Miley Cyrus, Repo Men starring Jude Law and Forest Whitaker, Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too starring Janet Jackson and Tyler Perry’s Tyler Perry, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Furry Vengeance starring Brendan Fraser.
The Harry Potter films still hold their release dates with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I hitting theaters on November 19th and Part II on July 15, 2011.

I don't see a point in seeing HP7pt1 in 3D because for most of the movie they are just running around aside from the opening fight.
I haven't been sold on the post-process 3D stuff yet. Everything I've seen previously has been an inferior 3D effect that distracted heavily from the movie — Superman Returns, Harry Potter, for instance. Technically, I don't see a way for it to come close to 3D caught in a camera or 3D rendered for each eye.
Prove me wrong, though. I'd love to be wrong on this.
