New Year’s Eve, December 9, 2011
The loose sequel to the ensemble romantic comedy Valentine’s Day, directed by Garry Marshall.  Warner Bros. is hoping this will be the start of a beautiful franchise of holiday-themed rom-coms.

Contagion 3D, October 21, 2011
The narrative centers around the miscommunication surrounding a viral outbreak.  Director Steven Soderbergh is re-teaming with The Informant! scripter Scott Z. Burns, with a cast that includes Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard, and Jude Law.  He’s also making his first 3D movie.  Could be very cool.

Journey to the Center of the Earth 2, September 23, 2011
The sequel to the family-friendly Brendan Frasier flick of 2008.  I didn’t see it, but I’m pretty sure that they went to the center of the Earth.  I won’t see this one either, but I’m pretty sure they’re gonna head toward the center of the Earth.

The Apparition, September 9, 2011
A horror movie based on a true story directed by Todd Lincoln; stars Ashley Greene (New Moon)

Final Destination 5, August 26, 2011
Teenagers continue to die in horrifying and entertaining ways in the fifth entry to the franchise

Late Bloomer, August 12, 2011
Plot synopsis: “Based on Ken Baker’s 2001 book ‘Man Made: A Memoir’ about his struggle with the effects of a tumor resting on his pituitary gland that delayed his puberty until the age of 27 when the tumor was removed and he experienced the effects of puberty over the course of three weeks.”

Red Riding Hood, April 22, 2011
Plot synopsis: “[A] gothic horror re-imagining of the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale. Amanda Seyfried will play a woman in a medieval village being terrorized by a werewolf.”  Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight) will direct.

Born to Be Wild, April 8, 2011
A nature documentary that will play on IMAX screens.
