In case you haven’t heard, Jurassic World is opening in theaters this weekend. It’s kind of a big deal, as the Universal Pictures film is on track to have a massive opening weekend, riding high on a wave of excitement and nostalgia. The folks at the Alamo Drafthouse are true lovers of cinema, so they’re doing something a bit different to celebrate the release of Jurassic World. In the video below, which we’re happy to exclusively debut, you’ll see that if you attend the Drafthouse this weekend in Austin, you may encounter a special (and familiar) creature roaming the halls:

Sheila the velociraptor and her handler will be appearing at Austin-area Alamo Drafthouse theaters during opening weekend, as well as Friday night at the Mondo Gallery event, “When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth,” which will showcase work from artists such as Jock, Francesco Francavilla, Aaron Horkey, Ken Taylor, and more. Moreover, the "When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth" show will offer a limited pressing of the previously sold out Jurassic Park original motion picture soundtrack on Dino DNA Splatter vinyl.

We’ve got a new print to share with you as well from the gallery event, this one focusing on the velociraptor by DKNG. The opening reception for the gallery will be held on June 12th from 7:00-10:00, while the “When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth” will be on display from June 13th through June 27th during regular hours. Remaining prints and original works will go on sale on MondoTees.com at a future date.
