In the real world, no fabric can pull off what Rorschach’s mask does in “Watchmen”. To have the inkblots constantly shifting but also remain symmetrical is impossible. Thankfully, thanks to CGI, filmmakers cannot only give the appearance of such a mask, but they can control the emotions.
Since today is the sixth of the month, we get a new WATCHMEN diary, this time courtesy of Empire. It focuses on crafting Rorschach’s mask and the work that went into it. I think this may be one of my favorite journals so far as that mask is such an integral part of the character and I love it when CG is used not just as a neat effect, but as something that can tie into an actor’s performance.
