The Wednesday TV ratings for March 11th are in, here are some of the highlights:

  • Empire time! The mighty Empire has not fallen, but it did dip slightly in the key 18-49 demographic where it has slain all other competition this season. Empire was down one tenth of a point to a 5.6 at 9 p.m. One explanation is that it's yet another casualty of the Daylight Savings hangover. The other is that American Idol always bleeds over to 9:01 p.m., which drags Empire's ratings down a little (they are usually adjusted later -- and rise).
  • Still, Empire did definitely rise in viewers to 14.7 million, easily helping Fox win the night in ratings and overall. Next week, the show will have its 2-hour season finale starting at 8 p.m., which will surely bring in another ratings bump.
  • Somewhat surprisingly, The 100 dipped a tenth to 0.4 and 1.3 million viewers at 9 p.m., despite it being the show's Season 2 finale, but again, it's likely suffering from the DLS-related dips across the board.
  • The night was heavy with reruns, but Fox's other boost came from the aforementioned American Idol at 8 p.m., which was up two tenths from last week to a 2.3 rating and 9.3 million viewers.
  • Survivor on CBS at 8 p.m. was nipping at its heels, though, pulling a 2.2 rating and slightly besting Idol in overall viewers, with 9.38 million.
  • A similar story was true at 9 p.m., but even Criminal Minds' 10.38 million viewers were no match for Empire. Its 2.1 rating also didn't come close to encroaching on the Lyons.
  • At 10 p.m., the second episode of CSI: Cyber did not lose any viewers from its premiere, which is a good sign for the spinoff. It earned a 1.8 rating and 9.7 million viewers.
