The weekend TV ratings for March 6th - 9th are in, here are some of the highlights:

  • Friday TV was a game of perspective. Though ABC's Shark Tank at 8 p.m. was down 14 percent from its last original episode, it also won its time slot (per usual) with a 1.9 rating in the key 18-49 demo, and notching 8.2 million viewers.

CBS won the night overall in that demo (just barely) and with viewers overall though, thanks in part to The Amazing Race at 8 p.m., which was up 9 percent to a 1.2 and 6.16 million viewers. Hawaii Five-0 at 9 p.m. stayed steady with a 1.2 rating and 9.64 million viewers.
  • The premiere of ABC's new docudrama In An Instant at 9 p.m. had a quiet start before moving to Saturdays, with a 0.9 rating and 4.63 million viewers.
  • Blue Bloods, CBS's old stalwart (in more ways than one ...) notched a 1.4 rating and 11.18 million viewers.
  • Saturday ratings were too boring to talk about, so let's move on to Sunday. Daylight Savings, that scourge, also affects TV viewership in primetime, so expect big dips this week that aren't necessarily indicative of anything other than the time shift.
  • CBS's The Good Wife at 9 p.m. hit a series low of a 1.0 rating, and 9.06 million viewers, while new series Battle Creek at 10 p.m. dropped two tenths to a 0.8 rating and 7 million viewers.
  • ABC's Ryan Philippe-starring murder miniseries Secrets & Lies garnered a 1.4 rating and 5.9 million viewers at 9 p.m., down a tenth from last week, but generally seems to be holding its audience from its premiere.
  • Finally, Fox's The Last Man on Earth was down six-tenths from its premiere last week, notching a 1.8 rating at 9:30 p.m. (which isn't all that awful), and 4.3 million viewers. As one of the many people who I assume watch this on a delayed viewing, those numbers should really get a boost from Live+3 tallies, especially since I wager a lot of its audience was watching The Walking Dead at the time.
