The Collider Weekly TV Guide is a rundown of notable episodes, premieres, returns, finales, and opportunities to catch up on great shows (or cast an eye to the occasional train wreck). Check out our picks for the week beginning with Tuesday, January 19th:

Tuesday, 1/19

The Flash, “Potential Energy” (CW, 8 p.m.) – Returning from mid-season break, the second season of The Flash continues on as Barry (Grant Gustin) considers telling Patty (Shantel VanSanten) about the whole...ya know...superhero thing, just as his team comes into contact with The Turtle (Aaron Douglas), a meta-human who can slow time.

Agent Carter Season 2 Premiere, “The Lady in the Lake/A View in the Dark” (ABC, 9 p.m.) – As Season 2 opens, Peggy (Hayley Atwell) is on the West Coast, looking into a homicide that has left a corpse that glows and emanates cold. As she investigates, she dredges up facts that could decimate her already bumpy career.

Arrow, “Blood Debts” (CW, 8 p.m.) - At last we left Oliver (Stephen Amell), he was watching the person he most cares about die at the hands of the sinister Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), and the return of Season 2 after mid-season break sees our hero going on a rampage to seek revenge on Darhk and his minions.

Thursday, 1/21

Portlandia Season 6 Premiere, “Pickathon” (IFC, 7 p.m.) - Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein's venerable comedy series returns to IFC with a sardonic view of the titular music festival, with a couple using drones to attend the concert and hipster girls searching for the perfect man-bun. Natasha Lyonne and The Flaming Lips guest star.

Legends of Tomorrow Series Premiere, “Pilot, Part 1” (CW, 8 p.m.) - The latest DC adaptation from the CW gathers a host of supporting superheroes (and villains) from Arrow and the Flash, including Wentworth Miller's Captain Cold and Brandon Routh's Atom, to create the titular team, with Time Master Rip Hunter (Doctor Who's Arthur Darvill) bringing them together to attempt to avert Vandal Savage's (Casper Crump) plan to destroy humankind in the year 2166.

Heroes Reborn Series Finale, “Project Reborn” (NBC, 8 p.m.) - This midling follow-up to Tim Kring's doomed Heroes comes to a close as Erica (Rya Kihlstedt) makes big moves to ensure the success of her eleventh-hour plan, while Tommy (Robby Kay) and Malina (Danika Yarosh) face their own challenges and the search for Miko (Kiki Sukezane) coninues on.

The 100 Season 3 Premiere, “Wanheda, Part 1” (CW, 9:03 p.m.) – This series, about 100 juveniles who reside and fight on Earth, around 90 or so years after a nuclear war, continues on as the aftermath of the stand-off with Mount Weather and the voyage to the City of Light begin to settle in.

Baskets Series Premiere, “Renoir” (FX-E, 10 p.m.) – FX and Louis C.K. team once again for this promising yet overtly cynical comedy of bleakness, starring the talented Zach Galifianakis as the titular classically trained clown who returns from his European schooling to Texas, where he becomes a rodeo clown. Though consistently fascinating and dark, the show seemingly gets off on the dreary, miserable experiences of the lead character.

Saturday, 1/23

Black Sails Season 3 Premiere, “XIX” (Starz, 9 p.m.) - This popular pirate action-drama returns with Toby Stephens' Captain Flint coming into contact with the legendary, merciless Blackbeard, played by Ray Stevenson, who has a history of guesting on TV series and being the best part of those series, especially in the case of Showtime's woefully over-praised Dexter.

Sunday, 1/24

The X-Files Season 10 Premiere, “My Struggle” (Fox, 10 p.m.) - After an elongated nine-season run between the 1990s and the aughts, this beloved science fiction procedural returns with a six-episode series that may serve as a test to see if a full-on reboot would be worth pursuing. The Chris Carter-written episodes are not very good, but the ones written and directed by other veterans of the original series recall the zany, dark emotional undercurrents of the original run. As far as second chances go, one could be used in much worse ways than this.
