Warning: Spoilers from the last episode of Westworld.

First “Hold the door,” now “What door?” HBO has mastered the art of door imagery, which we didn’t know we wanted until Game of Thrones and last Sunday’s Westworld. After that shocking revelation about Bernard (Jeffrey Wright), new photos from this weekend’s episode, “Trace Decay,” offer glimpses at what now befalls the hosts, guests, and creators in the aftermath.

Among the batch of seven images, we see Dr. Ford (Anthony Hopkins) returning to his secret laboratory where he’s been building his own off-the-books hosts, one of which turned out to be Bernard. Ford’s undercover mole is also seen in the space, sitting in a chair with an addled expression. According to the official plot description for the hour, he “struggles with a mandate,” which we can only assume is the fact he was forced to kill Theresa (Sidse Babett Knudsen) after subconsciously luring her into a trap.

We also see Tessa Thompson once again as board member Charlotte, and it’ll be interesting to see how she handles this dilemma. Ford said last episode that he plays a continuous cat-and-mouse game with the board, which begs the question, Was Theresa his first victim?

Elsewhere, Maeve (Thandie Newton) with her newly enhanced mental capabilities is back in story mode. She plans on somehow escaping Westworld, but what’s boggling is the fact that no one behind the curtain has been able to pick up on her alterations. We know many are chalking up discrepancies in the park to Ford’s new narrative, but it’s hard to believe that Felix and Sylvester were the first to realize someone with higher clearances was tampering with Maeve. We’ll see how — or if — they react when she tries to change her script.

Then there’s Teddy (James Marsden), who will be “jarred by dark memories”; Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) and William (Jimmi Simpson) wandering this new spot where the mountains meet the sea; and a return of Hector (Rodrigo Santoro) and Armistice (Ingrid Bolsø Berdal), who appear to be back in that shoot-‘em-up loop from Episode 1.
