Take a Look at Whiplash from Marvel’s IRON MAN VS. WHIPLASH Limited Series

We’ve all seen the picture that was released of Mickey Rourke wearing part of his Whiplash suit and now thanks to some concept art that was released to promote the latest Iron Man comic book miniseries, we might have a better idea of how Whiplash will look like when the film hits theaters next year. Full picture and more after the jump.

Whiplash Concept Art Iron Man 2 movie.jpgThe concept art is by Marko Djurdjevic and was posted on Marvel’s website earlier today. I’m not really digging it too much. The mask reminds me a bit too much of Vega from “Street Fighter” and I can’t imagine Mickey Rourke’s Russian accent coming out of it without looking silly. It is just some concept art though and for all we know this is how Whiplash will look like in the comics but not in the film.

The 4 issue miniseries  “Iron Man vs. Whiplash” will be exploring who exactly is Anton Vanko and the reasons behind him blaming Tony Stark for the murder of thousands. I’m also sure that we will also see how exactly Anton Vanko becomes Whiplash. I’m not too clear if this will also serve as a prequel to the film that is set to open next year or if it will just serve as a way for people to get to know the newest villain before seeing him on the big screen. I’m going to guess and say that it is going to be the later.

The first issue for the comic book miniseries will go on sale November 4th meanwhile “Iron Man 2″ comes out May 7th, 2010.

Looks like Iron Man got half his suit on. Why does everyone in Iron Man world have a big glowing disc on the chest? Kind of takes me out of it that all of the super villians use Stark’s patented power source.

I agree that the mask is a little much.
Although I especially like the groin pistons – “For when your groin needs that extra bit of power…”

soon to be followed by the villain Concussion and Compound Fracture, who then combine forces to form the supervillain team The Higher Insurance Premium Force, eventually to be defeated by Iron-Man’s new ally, Bankruptcy-Dude.

One thing I loved about Ironman movie was that it kept to the comic, and at the same time, was believable — for the most part. Looking at that image, I wonder how they’ll pull off the light (laser?) whips and keep it realistic.

I think it looks great!! I’m excited to see them come up with a unique look for the movie version. I’m sure Mickey Rourke had fun in this role

How could this guy even come close to being a threat to Iron Man? IM can fly, shoot missiles and other armaments from long distances. This guy is stationary and has 8 foot long whips. Hope he has a emp or something to try to even the field. Lame.

Not to mention flesh is exposed. He could be taken down by one sniper.

As you can see in the Iron Man 2 movie trailer, Whiplash attacks Tony Stark while he is outside his suit. That's not nice, definitely not.

The whole showy thing with Iron on stage and wut not seems a bit much, whiplash from what I can see is too exposed for one, mostly short range kind of stuff, and the biggest threat he can pose is if he literally works for someone else as an engineer, to make suits and wut not, and the other thing is the character change from Terrance Howard to Don Cheadle because according to rumors happened because Terrance Howard got a little greedy with the money that he wanted to be payed for the movie, which as we all know or have learned from previous movies one main things that keeps them going is having consistent actors to allow the audience to get more into the movie.
