Sony Pictures has released four clips from director Roland Emmerich’s latest actioner White House Down. The story follows a rejected Secret Service applicant (Channing Tatum) who must save the President (Jamie Foxx) when a heavily-armed paramilitary group takes over the White House. The film promises to be the kind of big and dumb summer fun that Emmerich does best, and should make for a refreshing sugar rush in the midst of the tentpole movie season. I also really like that the pic doesn’t try to take itself too seriously, and the chemistry between Tatum and Foxx looks to be quite amusing. If you missed any of Steve’s previous set visit coverage, be sure to check out 35 things to know and his interviews with Tatum, Emmerich, producers Brad Fischer and Reid Carolin, producer Harold Kloser, and production designer Kirk M. Petruecelli.

Here’s the official synopsis for White House Down:
In Columbia Pictures’ White House Down, Capitol Policeman John Cale (Channing Tatum) has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx). Not wanting to let down his little girl with the news, he takes her on a tour of the White House, when the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group. Now, with the nation’s government falling into chaos and time running out, it’s up to Cale to save the president, his daughter, and the country.
