It’s a Wedding Crashers reunion! Not only are Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson getting together for The Internship, but Will Ferrell is now reported to be making an appearance as well. Much like his turn in Wedding Crashers, Ferrell’s role will be small (but memorable, I’m sure). Directed by Shawn Levy, the film follows Vaughn and Wilson as two out-of-touch and out-of-work salesmen who attempt to reinvent themselves by taking an internship at a major tech company. Hit the jump for more details on Ferrell’s cameo.
Variety reported on Ferrell’s cameo in The Internship, which will feature the veteran comedian as Wilson’s brother-in-law. The character apparently sells home electronics and has no qualms about making inappropriately sexist remarks about his attractive customers. Sounds right up Ferrell’s alley, as he starred as the guys’ mentor Chazz Reinhold in Wedding Crashers, a man who took pride in crashing funerals.
Levy’s The Internship also stars Max Minghella, Rose Byrne and John Goodman, alongside Dylan O’Brien, JoAnna Garcia, Eric Andre, Josh Brener, Tiya Sircar, Aasif Mandvi and Tobit Raphael. Josh Gad recently joined the cast as Headphones, the anti-social engineer who works at their tech firm and has a penchant for wearing headphones without music.
Ferrell will next be seen in the upcoming political comedy The Campaign opposite Zach Galifianakis. Also on the comedian’s schedule is the adaptation of the Susan Trott novel, Flamingo Thief, the football comedy Three Mississippi and, of course, a return to form as Ron Burgundy in Anchoman 2.
