Now playing in limited release, and expanding nationwide starting January 8th, is director Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s The Revenant. As most of you know, the film is set in the 19th century and stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a hunter left for dead by his compatriots following a bear mauling. Once he regains enough strength, he sets out for revenge. Loaded with breathtaking cinematography by Emmanuel Lubezki, incredible action set pieces that make you feel like you’re in the movie, and brilliant performances by the entire cast, The Revenant is one of those special movies that should be seen in a movie theater on the largest screen possible. The film also stars Tom HardyDomnhall GleesonWill Poulter and Forrest Goodluck.

At the Los Angeles press day, I landed an exclusive video interview with Will Poulter and Domhnall Gleeson. They talked about working with Emmanuel Lubezki (Chivo), how they each got cast, the way Alejandro G. Iñárritu is always looking for the truth in the moment, and a lot more. Check out what they had to say below and you can click here for all our previous Revenant coverage which includes clips, trailers, images and our review.

Will Poulter and Domhnall Gleeson:

  • How did they each get the role?
  • How Alejandro G. Iñárritu was always looking for the truth in the moment and not trying to “Hollywoodize” it. Did they prepare any differently knowing this?
  • What was it like working with Cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki (Chivo)?
