If you're a fan of Ghost World, then you'll probably also enjoy Wilson, the latest graphic novel adaptation from Daniel Clowes (who adapted the screenplay himself). The film, directed by Craig Johnson, follows the story of a down and out middle-age man (Wilson, played by Woody Harrelson) who just wants to be accepted. The problem is, he can't keep his mouth shut. And as we see in this first trailer, that gets him into a fair amount of trouble.

But things change -- if not for the better, than at least for the different -- once Wilson learns that he has a daughter with his estranged wife Pipi (Laura Dern), who was put up for adoption 17 years ago. As Wilson and Pipi decide to go looking for their daughter to make a connection with her, Wilson appears to find some modicum of happiness.

Though I have mixed feelings about this trailer, I did love Clowes' sardonic humor in Ghost World, and presume there's more to Wilson than just the quirky-factory of indie movie checkpoints that we see here. It's a great cast and was also named by film soothsayer Gregory Ellwood as a potential sleeper hit for 2016 (although its long road to the box office means that we'll actually see it in 2017).
