While the world of blockbuster filmmaking is decidedly overrun with CG, the art of special effects is not dead. Mad Max: Fury Road and AMC’s The Walking Dead prove that the artform lives on, though maybe not as strongly as it once did. Indeed, there once was a time before Avatar and performance-capture technology when Hollywood relied on a different kind of artist to bring magic to the big screen: the makeup artist. One of the most well-known and renowned makeup artists of our time is one Rick Baker, who pioneered the field with his work on An American Werewolf in London and continues to work wonders to this day on films like Men in Black 3 and Maleficent.

And now you can own a piece of movie history crafted by Baker himself. An auction will be held live at the Universal Sheraton on May 29th with over 400 lots of materials created by Baker. Bidding is also possible online and via telephone so you don’t have to be in person to purchase one of the pieces—which range from Men in Black’s Mikey to a Gremiln from Gremlins 2—and in anticipation of the auction, we’ve got two Baker pieces to give away to two very lucky readers.

We’ve been provided with masks created by Baker for The Wolfman and How the Grinch Stole Christmas to give away to two winners. Each winner will also receive a full catalogue of the Rick Baker auction.

In order to enter our giveaway, email thecollidermailbox@gmail.com with your name and address and include RICK BAKER MASK Giveaway in the headline. You also need to have “liked” Collider on Facebook.

This giveaway will be open until May 29th at noon PST and is only open to residents of the United States.  Also, only one entry per person.  Once the giveaway ends we’ll randomly pick some winners.
