One of these things is not like the other. Actually, none of these things are like any of the other…and that’s what made the premise of Ivan Reitman’s 1988 film Twins work. But how do you further capitalize on the hilarious assumption that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito are twin brothers? Add in Eddie Murphy as a long-lost sibling and call it Triplets. DeVito talked about the possibility of a sequel in an recent interview with Steve. Currently, there is no director attached, but Reitman will produce the project via his Montecito Picture Co. The sequel is in the process of recruiting writers as no substantial creative talks have occurred yet. Hit the jump for more on Triplets.
THR reported on the development of Triplets. The original film posited that Schwarzenegger and DeVito were twins born “in a secret lab somewhere in the Western hemisphere” where Schwarzenegger got all the good genes and DeVito got all the crap. I’ll watch it, i have no emotional attachment to Twins but I did enjoy the pairing of Arnold and Danny, Eddy Murphy will make it funnier. This is a low risk profitable venture for all 3 actors.
I no longer watch Arnold movies because I believed his lying $$$ and voted for him. Now I no longer have a job and my beautiful state of California is in horrible shape. No way I’m paying to see him in a movie unless he’s co-starring with Elvis, Jesus and Jim Morrison.

Wow. I can’t believe this is real. A Twins sequel was hard enough to believe but now they’re adding Eddie Murphy! Murphy may be worth a lot of money but that still doesn’t take away from the fact he hasn’t made a funny movie in over 10 years.
