Liev Schreiber misses his claws. Currently starring in the Broadway Revival of Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge, the incredibly versatile actor is also featured in the upcoming action thriller Repo Men, co-starring Jude Law and Forest Whitaker. Playing a longshoreman onstage and an office salesman onscreen, Schreiber, while undoubtedly hard at work, hasn’t flexed his action hero muscles in a while.
Speaking at a junket for Repo Men in New York on Tuesday, Schreiber was asked if he would reprise his role as Sabretooth in the upcoming sequel to Wolverine. Schreiber mentioned that he had dinner with Wolverine co-star Hugh Jackman on Monday night and that Jackman had read the first draft of the script for the sequel, but he was not sure if Sabretooth would be in the film.
“Do I miss my claws? Schreiber said of his superhero role. “I miss my claws deeply. In the Japan storyline as I remember it from the Wolverine comics, Victor wasn’t there. So I don’t know. Of course I’ve got my fingers crossed because I love the character so much, to have the chance to do it again would be a lot of fun, but I’m not sure.”
