Wolverine 2 is set to begin shooting in January 2011 and definitely will take place in Japan. As reported by Roger Friedman’s Show Biz 411 (who, in an bizarre twist, is just reporting on a Wolverine movie instead of happily bootlegging it) , the second Wolverine appears to be an adaptation of Chris Claremont and Frank Miller’s classic 1982 comic book arc. Hit the jump to learn more about Logan’s exploits in Japan.
In Marvel comic’s continuity, Wolverine has always longed for Japan. In Claremont and Miller’s hallmark Wolverine tale, Logan embarks to Japan and falls in love with Mariko Yashida. Since nothing is easy, Mariko is the heiress to the Oyabun family, a powerful and lethal Yakuza crime family. Chaos ensues, many ninjas wind up dead, and Wolverine seemingly overcomes his vicious feral nature. As of now, Wolverine 2‘s script is being hammered out by Christopher McQuarrie (X-Men, Valkyrie) with no director currently attached to the project. Putting the debacle that was X-Men Origins: Wolverine aside, this movie could be fun. The storyline is a perfect examination of the burly berserker. Hopefully, this film will keep the raging Canuck as the focus rather than surrounding him with endless mutant cameos. Wolverine is the best there is at what he does, so let him do it.

I hope this one rights the wrong that was Wolverine the first movie.
Oh the silliness of that one. I can never forgive whoever greenlighted that shite.
Here's hoping this one will give Wolverine a real good turn.
I hope they take better care of the workprints..
is silver samurai in the movie???

Are you serious. I am a huge Wolverine comic book fan. I just know when I go to the movies I go to the movies and not the comic book shop. People have to learn that the dipection a director and write give for a movie will always be differnt than the book itself and if your going to sit there and cry about it here’s a bottle.
Seroiusly people instead of seeing what the movie is missing lets see what they got!

I honestly liked the first movie.
Now as far as the sequel is concerned well…. it will be a certainly smaller budget film and i do hope we have more mutant cameos….
It was a good movie.I'm just mad that they didn't adhear 2 the comic. The end seemed a little contrived.

Unlike most anal fanboys, I really enjoyed X-Men Origins Wolverine. It was one of the better summer films last year. Can't wait for this sequel.
That being said, I have to agree with the last part of this article. “Hopefully, this film will keep the raging Canuck as the focus rather than surrounding him with endless mutant cameos. Wolverine is the best there is at what he does, so let him do it.” Cameos just for appearance sake are turning out to be more tease than fun. They're also leading to all this fanboy sniveling and whining. Stop them and simply focus on Logan.
A million pounds says that the Disney bigwigs stick their oar in a mess this one up like they did with the last Wolverine movie. Why can't they just stick to the orginal story line, oh no wait, they have to mess about with it so they can get a 12a/ PG-13 rating and cash in on it. They should make it a really dark 15 or 18 rating which is what the true fans want not some namby pamby 12a half assed story. Grr.
…but in all fairness i did quite enjoy the Wolverine movie haha.
here's hoping they lay off the poorly done green screen from the first flick. seriously, it was just TOO obvious.
