20 Seconds of the THE WOLVERINE Trailer

     March 26, 2013

Yesterday, six seconds of the first trailer for The Wolverine were released.  Today, we’re getting 20 seconds because studio marketing has gone to a horrible place where we get ads for ads for ads.  I’ll have my thoughts on the full trailer when it’s released tomorrow.

Hit the jump to check out the teaser for the trailer plus the new motion poster.  The film stars Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Brian Tee, Rila Fukushima, Tao Okamoto, and Svetlana Khodchenkova.  The Wolverine opens in 3D on July 26th.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Wolverine:

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

What did they stick him with? Something to destroy his healing factor?

    • Jack

I hope its something like the muramasa blade, which if he is cut by it he won’t heal from the wounds it inflicts.

  • say what???????

so we’ve gone from full trailers to 6 secs sneak peak… 20 secs ultra sneak peak….. 45 secs super duper ultra sneak peak… blah blah blah. seriously steve and collider crew don’t post these stupid sneak peek trailers etc… either the full trailer or nothing. seriously tell the studios to piss off.

your still going to find it and watch it regardless. dont kid yourself.

      • rado

Yes, online media, please ignore that s***. By lusting for hits you are helping to destroy cinema’s integrity. I don’t watch teasers for trailers and we should ignore them so they can die quickly. Thank you.

      • Kurvez

Yeah, it’s true. If they see that this shit works it’ll become a thing and before you know it we’ll all be hunched over our keyboards watching the countdown clock for the unlocking of the teaser site’s countdown clock to the 2 second teaser clip for the 5 second teaser clip of the 10 second teaser clip for the sneak preview of the “making of the trailer” clip which will have a secret link to the countdown site for the actual trailer of Avengers 2.

So yeah basically, kill it before it lives.

Refuse to watch this shit. Show the trailer or don’t. F**k off Collider for pandering to this horses**t.

  • Daniel

Amazingly, (or not) that was even less satisfying than the six second teaser teaser.

  • bendy gobbly

everyone knows that nobody cares about the wolverine. what the fox marketing department pre-suppose is, maybe they do?

    • Scott LaBelle

Thank you sir for referencing one of my favorite Wes Anderson movie quotes.

    Why does it look so……generic.

    • Rich woa

Yeah I know what you mean, hopefully we get a better taste on the real trailer.

    • I Dunno …

Maybe because every single movie based off a Marvel property has been completely generic.
