The first trailer for The Woman in Black has gone online. The movie stars Daniel Radcliffe as a young lawyer who travels to a remote village where he discovers the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman is terrorizing the locals. As we’ve seen from the images released for the movie and now this new trailer, it looks like director James Watkins has done an excellent job saturating the film with a great gothic horror vibe. The trailer also does a solid job of playing up the haunted house element of the plot. My only complaint is that I wish we could hear Radcliffe say a couple lines so we could get a better sense of his performance.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The film also stars Ciaran Hinds, Janet McTeer, Liz White, and Alisa Khazanova. The Woman in Black opens February 3, 2012.

Well, that surprised me! Looks creepy and very well made! Radcliff looks good in this too, I’m glad to see the actor free of his Potter chains.
Only one thing that felt odd in this though, it looks like England. But that lil girls narration sounds like part American/Part Irish/Part English. Whats the deal here?
Still, looks like a good creepy flick, and one that I almost didnt even bother watching this trailer for. Glad i clicked play.
why do you guys insist on posting trailers with ads? why would I watch and ad so I can see another ad? your site is crap.
Well, the woman in black is after the men in black…obvious
When she comes about tell her that! LOLLL!
What is scary about that? pfff
It’s no wonder this is a Hammer film. That shot of Radcliffe walking through the woods looks like the beginning of 90% of the Hammer films ever made. (That’s a good thing, by the way.)
Looks good. We need an exorcist for this generation.
I really want to see it! James Watkins. surprised me with ‘Eden Lake’!
Looking forward to this one. I don’t really care if it’s scary or not, I like thrillers just fine. The gothic era vibe it has going is cool.
But I was wondering who else is in this movie, which other main actors? Every shot seems to be Radcliffe by himself (with supernaturl beings).
only one thing to say after seeing this!…………
“expecto patronum”
Half the people seeing this will be Potter fans, myself included. Radcliffe is a great actor anyways
“My only complaint…”
You sound like an old bitter housewife…
No, the fact that you nitpicked three words of this article makes YOU sound like an old bitter housewife.
What’s bitter about wishing the protagonist had spoken in a trailer?
The meaning of “bitter” eludes many people, such as the original poster of this comment.
Eden Lake is one of the most horrific films I’ve seen so if this film is anything like his last we are talking alot of traumatized Potter fans.
Payback?
Fortunately, I can’t see WiB being the gore-fest that Eden Lake was. I’d expect more of a subtle psychological horror than blood and barbed wire. Interesting choice for Radcliffe, really. Post-Potter, he seems to be drawn to the theatrical stories rather than the big-budget blockbusters. Which, now I come to think of it, is quite logical.
Just desire to say your article is as astounding. The clarity on your publish is just cool and that i could suppose you are a professional in this subject. Well along with your permission allow me to grab your feed to stay up to date with impending post. Thanks one million and please keep up the gratifying work.
