Opening this weekend is writer-director Jimmy Hayward’s animated family movie, Free Birds. The film centers on two turkeys who travel back in time in order to try to undo the tradition of eating turkey on Thanksgiving. The voice cast is led by Woody Harrelson and Owen Wilson, with Amy Poehler, Dan Fogler, Lesley Nicol, George Takei, Colm Meaney, and Keith David filling out the ensemble. At the recent L.A. press day, I landed a video interview with Harrelson and Wilson. They talked about making Free Birds, the recording process, how they were approached to be in the film, the concept of time traveling turkeys, and more. Hit the jump to watch.
Woody Harrelson and Owen Wilson:
- How were they presented with the project?
- How you’re either on board with time traveling turkeys or you’re not.
- Did anything surprise them about the recording process?
