One of my most anticipated films of the year is The World’s End.  The film not only marks director Edgar Wright’s follow-up to Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, but it closes out the Blood & Ice Cream Trilogy that began with Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.  The pic’s US release is just a little over a month away, and a few World’s End goodies have surfaced online ahead of the film’s Comic-Con panel this weekend.  Peter Jackson—who has a cameo in Hot Fuzz—recently sat down with Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost for a discussion about the new film, and the video has been posted online for our viewing pleasure.  The conversation is great, as it delves into the origins of The World's End and the grueling production process.  Additionally, three new clips from the pic have been released online.

Hit the jump to watch the video interview and clips, and check back here on Friday for our full recap of the film’s Comic-Con panel.  The World’s End opens in the UK on July 19th and in the US on August 23rd.

Here’s the official synopsis for The World’s End:

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again.  They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World’s End.  As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s.  Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.
