The latest issue of Empire Magazine looks to be chock-full of goodies. We’ve already brought you some covers and images from The Avengers, and now some new images from the upcoming sequel Wrath of the Titans have landed online. The follow-up to Clash of the Titans finds Sam Worthington’s Perseus tasked with rescuing a kidnapped Zeus (Liam Neeson) from Hades (Ralph Fiennes). The images here are actually pretty cool, and give me hope that Wrath might possibly be a healthy step up from the underwhelming Clash. We get a peek at a grotesque-looking Minotaur, Rosamund Pike as Andromeda, Edgar Ramirez as Ares, Danny Huston as Poseidon, and Fiennes as Hades.
Hit the jump to check out the images. Wrath of the Titans opens in 3D on March 30th.
Here’s the official synopsis for Wrath of the Titans:
A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus (Worthington) –the demigod son of Zeus (Neeson)–is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius. Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades (Fiennes) and Poseidon (Huston). The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld. Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus’ godly son, Ares (Ramirez), switch loyalties and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans’ strength grows stronger as Zeus’ remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth. Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda (Pike), Poseidon’s demigod son, Argenor (Kebbell), and fallen god Hephaestus (Nighy), Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.

liam neeson is just a bad ass… wrath of the titans looks amazing! I cant wait for this movie to drop.
I personally think this looks sweet. Its nice to see Neeson in this character… for those of you who missed the first trailer for WOT, its quite a treat. http://thefilminformant.com/2011/12/wrath-of-the-titans-trailer-1/
my friend’s sister makes $72/hour on the computer. She has been without work for 9 months but last month her pay was $8180 just working on the computer for a few hours. Read more on this site… LazyCash10.com
Glad they spent money on Wigs this time round! In Clash, Sam looked like he just walked in off his Avatar set, did a few hrs then went back again. Ancient Greeks I’m sure never had neat crew cuts!
This film looks so much better!
After the horrid trailer we get more evidence that this is going to be one of the worst 2012 movies or maybe worst ever movies. I am so sorry for our Greek Mythology and the travesty they are creating of it. Such a tragedy. I only hope we won’t have to watch a threequel -well I’m not watching that either.-
I dunno, while the trailer looks pretty nifty, the plot synopsis is so chock full of mangled mythological mumbo-jumbo and overlaps with the plot of Immortals enough that I can see a lot of the audience for this movie being totally confused and disinterested. Making epic fantasy can be tricky: you have to deliver enough “fantasy” elements to give it that magical, larger-than-life feel, but at the same time, ground it with something audiences members can relate to.
Sal, thank you. The first Clash movie (reboot) was GOD ****ING AWFUL!
Meanwhile, the original was golden. I’m saddened that they’re trying so hard to make this film, and even more saddened to say that they’ve already greenlit a third film. I want to say it’s already filming, too, but that may not be the case.
Neeson doesn’t look like Zeus. He looks like Jesus. It’s a bit distracting. Maybe they should have made his hair white and aged him a bit more. I’m a little concerned about the movie, too. The trailer was far too “rock and roll action movie”. That was the mistake with the first one. I really would like to have seen a more “reluctant hero” type in these films as opposed to Worthington. The perfect example is how Viggo handled his role of Aragorn in LOTR. Something more complex and layered is what this film needs in a hero. LOTR proved you can have kick as action with terrific writing and depth in the performances.
I don’t think the Jesus pic is Neeson….
It looks like a hairy version of Toby Kebbell, (Johnny Quidd from RockNRolla).
That was the 1st thing that came to mind….I don’t even know if Kebbell is even in this film…
If we’re all talking the same picture, that’s not even Zeus. It’s Poseidon, played by Ralph Fiennes.
Again, assuming we’re talking the dude with the long dark hair dressed in brown and black holding the pitchfork staff and looking yes, much like a Jesus whose car got blocked in at the mall parking lot.
