Disney has released new images from their upcoming animated film Wreck-It Ralph.  We had previously seen some images of the film's various settings, but the image above gives us our first good look at the eponymous 8-bit villain (voiced by John C. Reilly) who tries to become a hero in other video game worlds, as well as the loads of Easter eggs the movie will contain. You can see Chun-Li and Zangief walking by Q-bert, and if you comb the background you can find M. Bison.  The movie is shaping up to be a gamer's delight, and with Futurama veteran Rich Moore at the helm, I'm pretty sure it will have strong comedy to back up the great premise.Hit the jump to check out the images and more info on the movie.  The film also features the voices of Jane Lynch, Sarah Silverman, and Jack McBrayer.  Wreck-It Ralph opens November 12th.Click for high-resolution.

According to USA Today, Ralph makes his decision to go good after being in a video game characters support group:

After attending a support group for arcade evildoers (which allows for cameos by such classic foes as Dr. Robotnik from Sonic the Hedgehog and Zangief the wrestler in Street Fighter II), Ralph decides to travel through a power strip and enter other games to prove he can be a good guy.

Reilly compares Ralph to when Michael Jordan attempted to play professional baseball:

"We all thought, 'Michael, what are you doing? You have to come back.' The same thing happens with Ralph. He is the greatest guy at destroying things ever, but then he heads off to be a soldier in a first-person shooter game."

Here's the official synopsis for Wreck-It Ralph:

Wreck-It Ralph (voice of Reilly) longs to be as beloved as his game’s perfect Good Guy, Fix-It Felix (voice of McBrayer). Problem is, nobody loves a Bad Guy. But they do love heroes… so when a modern, first-person shooter game arrives featuring tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (voice of Lynch), Ralph sees it as his ticket to heroism and happiness. He sneaks into the game with a simple plan—win a medal—but soon wrecks everything, and accidently unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens every game in the arcade. Ralph’s only hope? Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Silverman), a young troublemaking “glitch” from a candy-coated cart racing game who might just be the one to teach Ralph what it means to be a Good Guy. But will he realize he is good enough to become a hero before it’s “Game Over” for the entire arcade?
