Yesterday, we showed you some new images from Disney’s animated film Wreck-It Ralph, and now the first trailer has gone online. John C. Reilly voices the eponymous character, who has been forced to play the villain in a Donkey Kong-like arcade game for the past thirty years, but now wants to be the good guy. He decides to abandon his game, and goes searching for a new world where he can play the hero, but this ends up throwing the arcade world into upheaval. There are nice touches of Toy Story in here (what gaming characters do when we’re not watching), and I love all the cameos and gaming jokes (The “Q-bertese” bit had me cracking up), but the non-gaming stuff doesn’t quite click as well as everything else. Hopefully, it will all come together in the finished feature.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The film also features the voices of Jack McBrayer, Sarah Silverman, and Jane Lynch. Wreck-It Ralph opens in 3D on November 12th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Wreck-It Ralph:
Wreck-It Ralph (voice of Reilly) longs to be as beloved as his game’s perfect Good Guy, Fix-It Felix (voice of McBrayer). Problem is, nobody loves a Bad Guy. But they do love heroes… so when a modern, first-person shooter game arrives featuring tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (voice of Lynch), Ralph sees it as his ticket to heroism and happiness. He sneaks into the game with a simple plan—win a medal—but soon wrecks everything, and accidently unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens every game in the arcade. Ralph’s only hope? Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Silverman), a young troublemaking “glitch” from a candy-coated cart racing game who might just be the one to teach Ralph what it means to be a Good Guy. But will he realize he is good enough to become a hero before it’s “Game Over” for the entire arcade?

FUN
So many wonderful cameos in the group therapy session!
Eeghad!!!! I LOVE everything about it!!!
This is the greatest original idea since Toy Story!!!! The Zangief and Zombie thing was histerical! And then when the ghost turned blue, I lost it. This is going to be sooooo much fun for every age!
just imagine the amount of money that will be following between all of the different (games) companies involved here.
I’m calling it right here and now, this will be the first good video game movie of all time!
I’m seeing ti for Bowser.
Bowser!!! HAHA yes!!
I think this is the first time, or at least the first time in awhile, a trailer for a Disney animated movie has advertised the celebrity voices. Looks amazing btw
I hope this does hundreds of millions at the box office just so we can get Video Game Land at Disneyland.
Most games of that style and era didn’t include voice samples, and the ones that did were of much lower quality than the ones in this video. Kind of takes away from the authenticity.
You’d think they could at least bitcrush them or something.
