Fox has released a pair of new trailers for the upcoming event series return of The X-Files. Set 13 years after the original series run, this revival sees Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny reprising their roles as FBI Agents Dana Scully and Fox Mulder, respectively, with series creator/executive producer Chris Carter at the helm. The “event series” consists of six episodes that will be a mixture of standalone episodes and ones that further the mythology of the original series, with Mulder and Scully investigating a possible alien abductee in the first episode. Carter wrote and directed three of the installments, while series veterans Glen Morgan, Darin Morgan and James Wong wrote and directed the remaining three.

Check out the new trailers below, which premiered this evening during Fox's Gotham and new drama series Minority Report—synergy!

The limited series also stars Mitch Pileggi, Joel McHale, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Annabeth Gish, Annet Mahendru, Rhys Darby, Kumail Nanjiani, and William B. Davis. The return of The X-Files begins on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 10pm ET following the NFC Championship Game, continuing on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 9pm ET.

Here’s a synopsis for the X-Files revival:

Thirteen years after the original series run, the next mind-bending chapter of THE X-FILES is a thrilling, six-episode event series from creator/executive producer Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson re-inhabiting their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. Mitch Pileggi also returns as FBI ASST. DIR. WALTER SKINNER, Mulder and Scully’s boss, who walks a fine line between loyalty to these investigators and accountability to his superiors. This marks the momentous return of the Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history.
