Patrick Stewart seems like he was born to play the part of Charles Xavier, a.k.a. Professor X, a stance supported by his portrayal of the beloved comic book character in Bryan Singer's early X-Men movies. Though James McAvoy has taken on the mantle of Stewart's iconic character for three films now, he had yet to go the distance and sport the famous bald head of the renowned psychic. X-Men: Apocalypse has changed all of that.

In a new behind-the-scenes video, fans can now witness the transformation from the mild-mannered McAvoy into the sleek, aerodynamic Professor X. Also featured in this fun little video are director Singer, and Stewart himself, who appears to approve of McAvoy's new look. You can see how his new shiny dome appears on screen when X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters later this month.

Watch the transformation of McAvoy into Professor X below:

Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
