X-Men: Apocalypse may be setting up the stakes for a new wave of young mutants led by Sophie Turner's Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan's Cyclops, Evan Peters's Quicksilver, and Kodi-Smit McPhee's Nightcrawler, but it's also a culmination for the on-again, off-again frenemy trio at the heart of the most recent films. While James McAvoy's Charles Xavier has remained a stalwart supporter peace between human and mutant-kind, Jennifer Lawrence's Raven and Michael Fassbender's Erik Lehnsherr (aka Magneto) have come to blows with the idealistic professor time and time again...occasionally with dire circumstances.

After the fallout from Days of Future Past, perhaps only a cataclysmic force like Oscar Isaac's Apocalypse could bring them together again, and today brings a new clip from the Bryan Singer's latest installment in the franchise, teasing just how the mutant triumvirate reunite. Naturally, Raven and Professor X are at odds yet again, this time in a dispute over how Charles chooses to shape his mutant proteges (read: peacefully). Watch them come to ideological blows once more, in the clip below.

Here's the official Apocalypse synopsis:

Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
