Ever since Bryan Singer debuted the first footage for X-Men: Apocalypse at Comic-Con, fans have been wondering just what the look and tone of the latest X-Men film is going to be. Some recent rumblings around the net suggest a few things: According to Singer, we may see a glimpse of the classic comic book costumes fans have come to know and love; Stan Lee will, of course, have a cameo in the film; and Olivia Munn's Psylocke will not only sport purple form-fitting attire, but will have purple locks to match.

First up is Lee talking about his cameo with Business Insider, which wasn't really a description at all but rather the fact that he just confirmed he has one in the movie. Lee's statement is about as ambiguous as you can get, but only because someone on stage whispered a presumed word of caution in his ear before he let any secrets slip:

"When you go see the next 'X-Men' movie when it comes out, and see my fantastic cameo, you will say, 'I remember he told me about it here," Lee said. "It's a different cameo in that it has one additional thing in it."

More interesting is word of the X-Men's costumes and how they might appear in the latest Marvel mutant movie. In an interview with Yahoo!, Singer revealed that the team's combat suits might finally get a splash of color:

“The X-Men are sort of a fighting team, so it was always an attempt at being realistic to have them in fighting uniforms, flight suits, things like that. In ‘X-Men: First Class,’ which I produced and wrote the story for, we hark back to the original colors of the original costumes from the 1963 comics, which weren't all the same, they were uniforms and eventually evovled into the colors. I will say that in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse,’ there is a chance - without giving anything away - that you may get closer to seeing what I think, Mr. X-Men News, you are interested in seeing. I know it's something that I’ve been interested in, I just always wanted to do it the right way.”

Speaking of color, new X-Men addition Munn recently showed off her hairdo in preparation for the film. It's not quite as impressive as her sword skills, but it's a nice touch nonetheless:

In one more bit of Apocalypse-related news, star Jennifer Lawrence has recently admitted to perhaps having an interest in continuing to explore characters in the comic book and YA franchise worlds, despite not having the contractual obligation to do so. Here's what she told Yahoo!:

"I think so, I want to. I want them [Fox] to ask me and then I'll see how I feel in the moment when they ask. It might not make sense to a lot of people, but I feel like I'll know when they ask. If I get a pit in my stomach and I feel like I'm going to throw up, I'll say no. If I don't, then I'll ask how much they'll pay me. I don't have everything nailed down like Fassbender! I work more with stomachaches and numbers."

X-Men: Apocalypse opens May 27, 2016. Take a look at some of our recent coverage below:
