Bryan Singer Confirms Bishop and Warpath Are in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

     April 24, 2013

Following a few photos that revealed Halle Berry, Patrick Stewart, and Shawn Ashmore in costume, director Bryan Singer has now shared a video from the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past, which is currently in production.  While the Vine doesn’t actually feature any human beings, Singer provides a snapshot of the actor chairs on set, revealing two previously unconfirmed mutants that are a part of the film.  In addition to Xavier, Magneto, Storm, Logan, Kitty Pryde, Bobby “Iceman” Drake, and Peter “Colossus” Rasputin, we also see chairs for the characters Bishop and James “Warpath” Proudstar.  Hit the jump for more, including which actors are likely playing the characters.

When French actor Omar Sy was first announced as joining the cast, he was rumored to be playing the mutant Bishop, the son of Aborigine mutant refugees notable for the distinctive M brand above his eye.  Now that Bishop has been confirmed, it’s likely that this is indeed Sy’s character.  The mutant was a member of Xavier’s Security Enforcers and is viewed as a bit of an antihero, as he eventually became one of the X-Men’s main adversaries.

As for Warpath, since Booboo Stewart is the only Native American actor in the cast, this is likely his role.  The character possesses superhuman strength and speed, and one imagines Stewart has been hitting the gym in order to get his physicality just right.

    Who’s playing Blink?

    • Deadpool

      An Actress named Fan Bingbing.

  • Scurvy

If they are embracing the time travel by bringing in Bishop, when do you think they will announce CABLE?!

    • Chris

Cable wasn’t a part of the Days of Future Paat story, in fact neither was Bishop. He was only added for the animated series version. Fox’s X-Universe gets more and more butchered with every film.

    • Starkiller

      Cable!!! Yes, please.

  • scott

Way too many people in this….why dont we just call it The X-Men Universe

  • Me

I was Gonna say, CABLE CABLE CAABBLLEE!!

  • blaaaaa

    character overload…fail

  • MrNo

I’m Sorry, I may be going to be an ass here but… Where the fuck is CYCLOPS ! Seriously, if singer leave him dead, screw him a thousand times ! X-men without him is like making a power ranger movie without the red one !

    • Rich woa

They already butchered the character in the previous x-man film so why not.

      • Gögi

likening the xmen universe to a power ranger’s movie is fucking pathetic.

      • MrNo

You get my point, don’t play the smartass here.

Since “X-Men: First Class” seemed to be told as a different timeline in relation to the original trilogy (eg. Xavier can walk when he meets Jean Grey), I believe that the future that Kitty Pryde travels back from is the timeline of the original trilogy. Which is why Jean Grey and Scott Summers aren’t listed among the actors to come back from the original trilogy.

OR…Bryan Singer is intentionally keeping those two actor’s involvement a secret to surprise the fans.

But the main thing I want to know is why isn’t Kelsey Grammer coming back to play Dr. Hank McCoy?

  • Dan

Sounds to me like it will be a hybrid between the two issues and the animated series plot. CAN’T WAIT!

  • Dawson

    I want APOCALYPSE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • JK

Does McAvoy, Lawrence, and Fassbender even have speaking roles in this next movie?

    • Franklin

I’m guessing/hoping that the vast majority of these roles are secondary or cool shout-out cameos. The main cast of First Class are still the stars, along with Ellen Paige whose Kitty Pryde goes back in time and teams up with young Xavier and his group.

I think it is, I read it somewhere but I dont have the article.
