Director Bryan Singer is currently doing the press rounds for his epic fantasy adventure Jack the Giant Slayer which opens next month, but he’s doing a bit of multi-tasking as he’s also plenty busy prepping to helm X-Men: Days of Future Past which begins filming soon.  We already know that Singer is bringing back a number of familiar faces from past X-Men films for the First Class sequel, as the story involves time travel and alternate futures.  The filmmaker recently talked a bit more about the project, revealing that he’s considering including an all-CG character in the film and teasing a possible appearance by Halle Berry’s Storm.  Hit the jump for more.

“A CG Nick Hoult or a CG Ewan McGregor, maybe 20 years from now might be perfect, but it’s a little tough on the eyes when it’s not real.  I definitely want to use this technology again, and I might even be using some of it in a different way in X-Men. I don’t want to say how, yet, but I’m definitely using some of this technology on X-Men, which I never used in any of the other X-Men films.”

Singer went on to flat-out confirm that he’s considering using a fully CG character in DOFP, but declined to go into further details.  There’s a strong likelihood that we’ll finally see the mechanized Sentinels in the sequel, but I assume Singer is talking about something anthropomorphized when discussing an all-CG character.  Though CG technology has grown leaps and bounds over the past few years (the apes in Rise of the Planet of the Apes are tremendous), I haven’t exactly been blown away by the work in Jack the Giant Slayer.  Hopefully the CG work in Days of Future Past will be more impressive.

“I can’t say [whether Storm will be in the film]. I don’t know yet. And it’s not necessarily a deal making aspect at all. I want to make sure it’ll make sense. But I love working with her.”

I’d say it’s pretty safe to assume we’ll see Storm in at least some capacity in the sequel.  We should hear more details regarding the film soon as we move closer towards the production start-date.  X-Men: Days of Future Past opens July 18, 2014.

Please don’t. Storm and her various accents and “looks” were one of my least favorite things about the first trilogy. That and their butchering of the Juggernaut.

This movie is in need of storm.

I foresee a CG Apocalypse in the not too distant future.

Why is everybody saying main characters it’s probably going to be the sentinels because they are giant.

Storm I’m fine with. Halle Berry as Storm I am so not fine with.

For continuity’s sake, it’s a little late in the day to be changing her out now. I think we’ll just have to live with it tbh.

Halle is a great actress, but she didn’t do “Catwoman” or “Storm” any justice. Next Storm should be Angela Bassett 1st Pick, Zoe Saldana 2nd Pick, Vivica Fox 3rd Pick.
