Director Bryan Singer has shared a new image from the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past, and it’s a perfect encapsulation of the mix of new and familiar that the film’s story involves.  We see Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Nicholas Hoult’s Beast standing side-by-side in Professor X’s familiar underground hallway, but they’re decked out in 1970s clothes given that the year is 1973.  It’s a fantastic tease for fans, as we see that Hoult’s Dr. Hank McCoy has somehow found a way to suppress his Beastly appearance.  Interesting…

Hit the jump to take a look at the image.  and if you missed them check out Singer’s images of Jackman as Wolverine,  Halle Berry as StormPatrick Stewart as Professor X, James McAvoy as Professor X and Shawn Ashmore as Iceman.  The film also stars Michael FassbenderJennifer Lawrence, Ian McKellanAnna Paquin, Ellen Page, Omar SyDaniel Cudmore, Booboo Stewart, Fan Bingbing, and Peter Dinklage.  X-Men: Days of Future Past opens July 18, 2014.

I wonder will they explain how he became a para human again

      you have an echo

I’m willing to bet it’s something similar to what they used for nightcrawler in the animated series. A watch or something that creates a holographic image of his human appearance.

Aw here we go.. The wolverine show again..

Seriously. One thing I loved about First Class was that we finally got an X-Men movie where Wolverine isn’t the poster boy of the movie stealing screen time from everyone else.

That shot of Logan reminds alot of the first X-Men, loving it.

Feel like this one could have used a spoiler warning since it shows that Wolverine is going to be in the past section of the film.

You have to consider that Singer openly tweeted this picture out. Spoiler or non-spoiler, I would think Singer (of all people) would consider that. So I don’t think you would have to worry.

Is it just me or in this picture does Nicholas Hoult look way more like a young version of Cyclops than a young version of Hank McCoy?

I am sure Wolverine will be in both past and future/present? due to his non aging mutation. This is a great way to have all Wolverine, all the time! -_-

Why do we need Wolverine? Again…???
The X-Men universe is so rich that it can easily avoid featuring him.

Firstly, image inducer. It’s the same one he used during the interview we saw on the TV in the bar from X-2.

Secondly, does this photo mean the First Class travels forwards in time? Does that then mean the Xavier School is still operating during the mutant holocaust of Days of Future Past? Or does it mean that young Xavier had futuristic tech in the 70s and had acquired it only a few years after we last saw him using stuff that looked like it was cobbled together in the 50s. If this is the case, is Wolverine then the one who gets sent back in time instead of Ellen Page’s Kitty Pryde?

Knowing how obsessed FOX and teenage boys are with Wolverine I’m betting this is the case, which kind of defeats the purpose of making a DAYS OF FUTURE PAST movie to begin with.

I know it’s comic books and anything can happen but how are they going to explain away the fact that in the original Singer movies everyone acted like they didn’t really know who Wolverine was. Professor X certainly didn’t.

I’m sure there will be a logical explanation for Hank’s appearance,
and otherwise, I love their costumes! During the wait to see how it all ties
together, I’ve been watching previous X-Men movies with Blockbuster @Home from
DISH. With my busy work shift at DISH, I love being able to relax with a movie
after a long day. So I really love that with my preference for HD movies, I can
get all of my Blu-ray rentals without an extra charge.
