x-men-days-of-future-past-Michael-Fassbender-James-McAvoy-interview

Opening this weekend is director Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.  As most of you know, Days of Future Past finds Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) having his consciousness sent back to 1973 in order to help Professor X (James McAvoy), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), and the rest of the X-Men: First Class crew stop the rise of the Sentinels, giant robots programmed to exterminate mutants.  The film also takes place in the future, so we’re going to see the original X-Men cast and what will happen if Wolverine fails.  I caught a screening last week and am very happy to report the film is great.  It’s loaded with awesome character moments and tons of mutant action.  You’re all going to love it.  For more on the film, watch these five clips and nine minutes of behind-the-scenes footage, and click here for all of our coverage.

At the New York City press day, I landed a great video interview with Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy.  They talked about the ambition of the sequel, signing a multi-picture deal to play the characters, future movies, Ridley Scott’s Prometheus sequel, and so much more.  Hit the jump to watch the interview.

And if you missed my video interview with Hugh Jackman, click here to check it out.

Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy:

  • How many actors say they do the work for free and they get paid to promote.
  • How they had to sign a multipicture deal when they got X-Men: First Class.  Fassbender talks about the ambition of the sequel.
  • Would they want to continue playing the characters in the future?
  • Fassbender reveals he’s be making the Prometheus sequel with Ridley Scott

Prometheus 2 will shame all the haters into silence. Yes, it’s going to be that good. Not hype. Just truth.

      …okay.

You said the same thing about Phantom Menace and we all know how that turned out.

      • DEADP00L

        Seriously? He said that?

        Sad.

        What the…

Dude, you were the one who kept saying “That’s so wizard!” (unironically, I might add) for six months after that movie was released. Hype doesn’t need Jedi mind tricks to possess you.

Jeez . . . . . VERY boring, stock answers. I’d really like to see the one where they were laughing loudly. It would probably be better than the ol “Oh, we didn’t want to make a sequel . . . .unless it was really good!” nonsense.

Fassbender looks visibly bothered by the whole thing and the implication that he didn’t get much to do in the film speaks for itself. Of course with so many characters something’s gotta give, but I really liked Fassbender in First Class, his arc was the most interesting. I hope they give him more to do in the future.

Check out the other interviews for DOFP, all the actors are very uptight. They are probably like that since they are concerned some A$$hole/desperate reporter might go into the tabloid stuff about Bryan Singer. Who can blame them, their have always been leachy/sleaze-bag reporters out there.

But, this website and Frosty have always been considerate, good and gentlemen. The best Interviews are on this site.

couldn’t find it. Which one are you referring to? Can you please direct me to the link or keywords to be used for google search (in case Collider didn’t allow the link). Thanks in advance.

  • Damn

I’d recommend the one the youtube channel “Beyond the trailer” did with these two actors. Hugh Jackman interrupted them, it was hilarious!

What are you looking for? Can’t believe Collider deleted my comment!

  • Nemesis11

Thanks man. Will check that out.

  • Early Edition

that was legitimately hilarious. “Safety on?”

yeah. That’s actually surprising. I was referring to the comment where you mentioned about interview these two did for Empire.

  • The Flobbit

No, I haven’t seen Empire review these guys, but all of Empire’s interviews are entertaining, especially the Man of Steel ones. Try and track them down, they’re worth a laugh.
