I almost feel a little bad for 20th Century Fox because early news could be taking the wind out of their big panel.  They kept it completely under wraps in the program guide, but then there was word that X-Force could be announced, THR basically confirmed that The Wolverine and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes would be on the panel, everyone is going to be expecting something Predator related (although that's intentional on Fox's part), and now their announcement plans for X-Men: Days of Future Past have also probably been leaked.  Like I said, I almost feel bad for the studio, but ultimately this is all marketing and the fans in Hall H are going to be enthusiastic unless you drop the ball in a big way.  Also, not everyone in the room reads sites like ours, and you are under no obligation to find out what the studio is planning to reveal about Days of Future Past.

If, on the other hand, you're interested in something that will be revealed in due time whether you're at Comic-Con or not, hit the jump to learn about secret characters and possibly the plot for X-Men: Days of Future Past.  The film opens on May 23, 2014.

Vulture confirms what many already expected when it came to Peter Dinklage's character.  The Game of Thrones star is set to play Bolivar Trask, creator of the sentinels, giant robots programmed to hunt down and exterminate mutants.  A more surprising reveal is that Josh Helman (The Pacific) is set to play a young Bill Stryker.  As you may recall, William Stryker was the rabid anti-mutant soldier played by Brian Cox in X2, and was even briefly referenced by name in X-Men: First Class.

As for how Days of Future Past relates to Chris Claremont's comic of the same name, Kitty Pryde (Ellen Page) will still play a key role, but in a different capacity.  In the 1981 comic, Kitty lives in a post-apocalyptic world run by the sentinels and mutants have almost been completely eradicated.  With the help of a few other mutants, she sends her consciousness back in time to her younger self so she can warn the X-Men of an assassination attempt that will trigger the creation of the sentinels.

According to Vulture, Singer takes Kitty Pryde's power but uses to send Wolverine back into the past where he'll encounter the First Class mutants.  "However," Vulture continues, "something bad happens to Kitty during the time-travel trance, and while Wolverine is still under her spell, the other X-Men must race to find a mutant who can siphon Kitty's powers and bring their friend back to the future. Could that be the plot development that brings Anna Paquin's power-copying Rogue into the fold once again?"

There are still plenty of questions regarding Days of Future Past like how Singer is planning to bring back old Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and how the story plans to squeeze in so many mutants (earlier today we got our first look at Lucas Till reprising his role as Havoc), so we'll see what will be revealed when the movie has its panel on Saturday in Hall H.
