On the Trask Industries viral website, the mutant-hunting sentinels in X-Men: Days of Future Past are listed as 18 ft tall, and it turns out that the production actually built one to scale. Director Bryan Singer tweeted a set photo of him standing next to one, and it’s almost three times his size. I don’t know how tall Singer is (IMDb lists him as 5′ 10″), but it doesn’t change the machine’s imposing figure. Although I assume all of the sentinels’ movement will be handled with CGI, it’s still nice to see a practical figure.
Hit the jump to check out the photo. The film stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Ian McKellan, Patrick Stewart, Peter Dinklage, Shawn Ashmore, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Omar Sy, Evan Peters, and Halle Berry. X-Men: Days of Future Past opens May 23, 2014.
